My top 10 of Artist Sheila Delgado’s 30 day paintings

OK I failed the 30 in 30 this time.  I didn't paint 30 paintings. BUT.... my friend Sheila Delgado passed with flying colors! It was so much fun following her blog this month. She painted 30 paintings of Sunflowers. Some were very small, and she even painted bookmarks and had giveaways in the month. Sheila even  posted some of the artists she was following to her Pinterest board. I would like to share my "top 10" of Sheila's paintings this month. This is MY picks of my favorite ten paintings she did in the 30 day painting challenge.

Here... We... GO!..........

#10    Day 23 – 30 In 30

This one is an abstract, it just made me smile, when I first saw it, it looked like a happy sunflower waving so fast in the breeze it was a blur.  🙂

#9     Day 29

Another abstract. Sheila commented on how she could change it but I like the fact she is trying different things, going back and forth between abstract and impressionism.

#8     Day 16

In this painting, Sheila did not add a background color and she showed how it looks with a frame. I like it with a black frame it makes the painting "pop".

#7  Day 9

Sheila explained how she was having trouble with the colors, and there was a big water drip that she had to correct. I like the way that she explains each step, even though she makes mistakes, she still includes it all.

#6  Day 10

Day 10 you can tell that Sheila is really enjoying her painting. She had sprayed the painting with more water and started having runs, but I love the way the water makes the colors mingle together. She calls it a "happy accident", it certainly is happy 🙂

#5  Day 24

In this painting, Sheila stepped out of her comfort zone and used a palette knife to create this sunflower.  She criticizes herself often but I think it's great she tries various techniques that she is not that familiar with.

#4  Day 7

day-7  Sunshine and Rain ©2015 Sheila Delgado

Sunshine and Rain.... that is the name Sheila gave this painting. She describes what Yupo paper is and some other artists that use it. She did a good job with her watercolors using Yupo paper, in depicting the "rain". And the sunflower is lovely, as it made it in my top 5. 🙂

OOOOOHHHHHHH..... GETTING CLOSE TO THE END...

NOW FOR MY TOP 3 PICKS OF SHEILA DELGADO'S

30 DAY PAINTING CHALLENGE 🙂

#3  Day 4

Sunlight ©2015 Sheila Delgado.  Sheila explaines the way she is trying to get used to using Yupo paper and that she likes it better wet.  I think she capture the sun's rays very well in this "abstract" of the sunflowers.

#2  Day 20

OK I must confess... I really don't know if I should put this for my #2 favorite or my #1.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PAINTING! I like all the background color and how Sheila has used the water to manipulate the watercolors, and it just seems "busy", but I really do love this painting. Oh, I just can't make my mind up if this is number 2 or number 1 as my favorite! It might just have to be a tie 🙂

OK.... DRUM ROLL...............................................

MY #1 FAVORITE OF SHEILA DELGADO'S

30 PAINTINGS IN 30 DAYS.......

Nah... it's a tie with #2 actually 🙂

#1  Day 3

Sheila explains how she is starting to use Yupo paper and she is practicing on painting more loosely.  This painting is one where she used a palette knife too, so she is trying different types of painting.  I love it Sheila! 🙂
Well, there you go, my top ten of one of my fave artists I follow.  Sheila took part in  a 30 day painting challenge hosted by artist Leslie Saeta.  I tried to do the challenge, but failed miserably.   Hopefully if Leslie hosts another painting challenge I will be able to join in, I am still recovering and taking care of my health.  Right now it is either take the time to exercise for my health or paint, and now I am listening to my body 🙂 Hopefully by the next one, which may be in about 3 months, I will be in tip top shape to join in. 🙂 OK back to Sheila Delgado.  You can follow Sheila's blog, you can also find her on Pinterest. She paints all sorts, but this month was a lovely month of sunflowers.   I hope you enjoyed this post, if you are a fan, please share my blog.   I am grateful for each and every one of my readers and I intend to give you great content.   Who is your favorite artist?   Thanks for dropping by, Ciao for Now! 1. Cindy, I can’t believe you did this! Thank you so much my friend for liking my art so much. You did do quite a bit this month, you should give yourself a high five for that! You can still do a collage, lots of people do with less than 30.
We had a lot of the same favorites. lol And some of your favorites, are what I thought were my worst at the time. Like #10, the one I wiped out, I thought it was so bad… but now I really like it. And #2, I thought was a bust, but it has grown on me too. And lots of people liked it, so shows what I know, lol

WOW Cindy, I am so honored by your post! Thank you! Take good care, and keep us posted! Chat with you soon 🙂 Can’t wait to see your finished piece, it is looking amazing!

OH, and my favorites… I can’t choose. But Connie Cagley tried a new direction this month, and she really knocked it out of the ballpark. Sandy always amazes, and Yevgenia (and she did not do all 30 either)… Judy, Kim, Laurie….Ok, stopping before I name EVERYONE. lol

    1. Thanks Sheila, you deserve it you did such a great job. And you were brave enough to tell all of your mistakes, even though I think others did not see them. I sure didnt see your mistakes. I think next time you should say “I meant for the water mark to look like an accident” hahaha. 🙂 You did well and I love all your sunflowers, they have an energy and it emits from the painting. 🙂

  2. Sheila is one of the few people I follow religiously probably because she is so supportive of my work. I love how persistent she is. I probably have a completely different list of faves but I do like Day 29 and Day 4. “Vive la differene!”

I love all my Readers! Thank you for your kind comments :)
