Today is the first day of September and the first day of a 30 Day painting challenge. I have decided to do 30 days of painting.... not necessarily 30 paintings. Today I have started a bee and flower painting. I took a photo of this friendly bee last year in our garden. We had lovely flowers, unfortunately I didn't plant any this year. This little (or shall I say BIG) bee was happy and let me take its photo with no threat to me or the bee. I am starting this in watercolor, however I do not claim to be a watercolor artist, so if it doesn't turn out, you know why. I am contemplating doing an underpainting in watercolor and then adding my pastels on top, to make it "pop".
Thank you for stopping by I appreciate all my readers! Cindy
Today turned out pretty well. I actually was excited and not a bit of fear. I'm sure some of you remember when I was so afraid last time when I did my very first demo. That wasn't long ago, only in November.
I didn't finish my painting yet, because lots of people were coming up to visit and asking questions, and telling me their stories. It was a great day. So... my next "showing" is Saturday. I will be in Droitwich in Victoria Square. I am one of the Artists in View with other Artists of Droitwich Arts Network. If you are in the area I hope you will be able to make it to see all the great artists, this is the first Droitwich Arts Week! I am excited! I hope to see some of you on Saturday (I will be there 10am to 4pm). Thanks for dropping by, I appreciate you all! Cindy

I have also added some work on Redbubble and I was one of the featured artists last week in the Women Painters group (I was featured on the front page.... my painting was "The Girl from Mexico".
On Saturday, I will be joining Droitwich Arts Network artists, and be one of the "Artists in View". You can come by and visit me I will be doing demos on the day. This is the last week of my exhibition at the Button Tree in Droitwich. Here is the article if you want to read about it. If you are in the area please drop by and check that show out and also have a cup of tea and cakes. It is a cute little shop and they are very friendly there. Thanks for dropping by, I hope to see you at one of my demos. Cindy
Hi everyone! This afternoon was FABULOUS! I was able to finish work and I had a "mosey" over to Whitehall Galleries (in Stratford-upon-Avon). I was afraid I would be late, but fortunately, I made it in time. For What? (you probably are wondering) Artist Jen Allen is featured this weekend. Her artist opening at the gallery was today. I was fortunate to be able to talk to her for about 2 minutes. You can find her on Facebook by clicking here.
So ... that was pretty cool ... to me 🙂 AFTERWARDS... I walked further down Sheep Street in Stratford. There... you can find... a lovely little tea room 🙂
The Fourteas Tea Room
This place is a really happy place! All of the employees are dressed in 1940s dress. The guys and the girls, both. And they have all the old posters on the walls. And when you order a pot of tea and an scone, you get a little timer too. And you have to wait for the glass sand timer to finish, and it is about a 5 minute timer. Because the tea is steeping. After the timer finishes, then I took the tea leaves out of the pot, because it will make it really strong if you don't.
The owner of the Fourteas and her husband also works there. She told me it is best if you book ahead, because when I went, it was PACKED. BUT somehow, there was an empty seat. 😀
I can't wait to return! So when you visit Stratford-upon-Avon, I highly recommend The Fourteas Tea room. What a great day it turned out to be 🙂
